Partnered Twitch streamer and Barcelona’s very own Anavrin came to VBI looking for a complete channel redesign. Anavrin wanted the works: stream design, emotes, subscriber badges, logo design, illustration, animation and more.
See how we stacked the deck for Anavrin’s elaborate Twitch stream design below.
Featured: Stream/video intro, logo animation, animated screens and custom animated Twitch alerts compatible with Streamlabs.
Anavrin’s stream revolves around card games such as Hearthstone and Magic The Gathering (MtG). He also wanted to capture a young magician with a somewhat grimacing/smile.
In the original sketch, there were flame tattoos going up the hands/forearm area. However, once the vector process started, it was removed from the logo as a feature because it made the line work feel inconsistent with how small it had to be to be on the arm. Also, the arms were crossed, it was hard to distinguish it as a tattoo. We also would’ve had the mascot wearing something with shorter sleeves to show the tattoo – another design hurdle if the arms were crossed.
In the original sketch, we included random card suits and numbers from playing cards. The client then identified the card backs as the perfect opportunity to implement element icons from MtG, a game that he often plays on his Twitch stream.
Anavrin also expressed interest in adding logo animation, specifically around the facial features and expression. That’s when our inner team collaboration kicked into full effect. How do we carefully design the logo assets in a way that sets our motion design team up for success? *grins*
Having a vectored logo is perfect for merchandise, stream design and scaling up or down while keeping the same design proportions. However with an illustrated logo, it allows for a more personal hand drawn touch. Anavrin also commissioned one of our illustration artists to perfectly capture a life-like version of himself. His custom illustration was used across various social media profile avatars and even added to some of his stream panels.
To illustrate the Young Magician, our design brief consisted of taking a real life photo of Anavrin, and drawing the pose while holding MtG cards in his hand. Take a look at the evolution of the sketch to the finished product above. Every last detail was accounted for between the gauge, nose ring, shirt and lighting detail.
Our team worked with Anavrin on his elaborate stream setup and getting each detail just right. Each element of his design is customized to the games he most commonly streams as well as making sure his design was translated in his viewer’s primary language, Spanish.
Includes: Facecam, Profile art/avatar, Stream panels, Four stream screens of your choice, Stream alerts and Stream overlays.
Take a look at how our motion design team added life and facial expressions to Anavrin’s mascot logo. Grinning ear to ear.
We helped Anavrin win chat’s heart through various emote expressions that can be unlocked in stream. Subscriber badges inspired by the elements.
